Deputy at the Police Department

history
On a chilly autumn night, the Smith's moved from the UK to Ashwick Grove, Connecticut.  Only a few months beforehand had Mrs. Smith given birth to her beautiful baby boy, Andrew Jr.  The birth had come painfully and slowly - despite the flow of her magic within her. (Which she secretly had hoped would ease the torture.) Poor Mr. Smith had no way of helping her, but to sooth her pain by gently kissing her eyelids, her nose and her lips as he let her hold his hand tightly.

They bought the first house they laid eyes on and never regretted the decision.  It brought them four houses down from the family who became their closest confidants - the Manning's - well, at least for the parents.

The move to Ashwick Grove had not been an easy one on Mrs. Smith.  She had a hard time shifting into this new place.  However, her little baby gave her courage - plus, the Smith's had a very loving relationship.  Yes, sure they had their fits (most caused by Mrs. Smith because she has always liked to give her husband the hardest time) but they raised their little boy in a very healthy environment.

Harper cringes at his touch, her hand reaching out and pressing against the side of his face. She pushes him away because there he goes again, trying to help her because he always thinks he knows best. Andrew knows that Harper is defiant, a breed of her own brilliance that refuses to be subdued by anything. Especially not him.

"Stop trying to take care of me," Harper complains. She is trying to come off as an older woman, sophisticated and put together, but her whining and incessant stomping of her foot every time her comes to close proves anything but. Yet she successfully manages to get the rest of the dishes and put them into the sink without breaking anything.

Jessica Manning saunters back into the kitchen for a short moment, and she sees the on going struggle between Harper and Andrew. It only makes her smile.

"Do you two remember the Ericksons? Jasmine and Joseph? We visited them about four years ago when we went to London. Well, Joseph pursued Jasmine for about ten years before she finally caved," Jessica shares.

Harper wants to kill her mother. She also wants to kill the Ericksons, because they provided a fall sense of hope to their parental unit. But as soon as her mother enters, at the same moment she is also gone.

Harper just turns to look at Andrew, long and hard as if she is trying to see past him. It isn't working. "I think we should
just elope and then come back and tell them we did it and didn't invite them to the wedding so they all go crazy." Brilliant.
